Ray is a highly experienced communications, marketing, public relations and publishing professional. His track record has been built on "Big Idea" solutions.
Ray started his career with the Marsteller advertising agency, rising to the position of President. Following Marsteller, he launched his own advertising agency in partnership with Publicis, the global French communications holding company.
He was then recruited to join Gannett to assist with the launch of USA Today, and then served as President & Publisher of Gannett's USA Weekend.
Ray has been a Senior Partner with Whittle Communications, the New Media Company, Chief Marketing Officer for the Newspaper Association of America and, before joining French/Blitzer/Scott, was President and Chief Operating Officer for the Public Relations Society of America.
Ray was an aircraft navigator in the Navy and retired in the Naval Reserve as a Captain.
He has served as an advertising instructor at the New School. And is currently on the Board of Directors of Kids In A Drug Free Society and a director of the High School Career Academy Foundation
When he can find the time, Ray is an avid sailor on Long Island Sound and a pretty fair cook.
